| Combat Rules Outline
- Be descriptive and describe each of your actions. - No god modding. You cannot make your attacks hit or control your opponents character. Use words like attempted, tried, aimed to etc. - Be reasonable, do not do a horde of actions and attacks in one post. - You cannot dodge everything, so do not rp so.
Clashing
Clashing is when two samurai clash their blades together in efforts to try and usurp an offensive upper hand by thrusting the other back and forcing them off balance.
- In battle one can offer to initiate a clash either verbally or by any other means of communication. - A clash lasts for only two post, allowing one post for each player. During a clash you may not make any other moves, you must focus your rp solely on the clash. - There are two ways to win a clash, either you can try to over power them or you can try to weave your way out of the clash to cause your opponent to stumble with their own momentum. - If for any reason a clash is used as a fake out or some sort of attempt at a sneak attack, the attacker is deemed off balance unless their attack is successful while the other incurs no default disadvantage.
Retreating
Given the small population of the site and the inherent delicacy of the storyline I have decided that a retreat system be in order. I personally am not a big fan of dealing with dying characters and having them reincarnated with ooc reasons for revenge. So here is how this will work.
In order to retreat you must meet these three conditions:
-1). You must not be heavily wounded. -2). You must be able to move efficiently without any hindrance. -3). You need to have fought for at least 5 of your rp posts.

| Inherent Separation Between Ranks Benefactors of elite training aside from the elemental sword abilities(See sword forging forum for details) are the main default separation in power between higher and lower ranking players. This way role play ability can be a much more determining factor in a fight, however rank levels still need to be respected and as you will see below levels of "faction training" will enforce that. Although ranks are important they do not limit anyone to a confined category of power. Anyone can observe and learn from their battles to become stronger by watching techniques and styles closely and replicate them through training and mastering them through in battle usage. If you wish to attempt to replicate another players style or techniques pm an admin and we will roll your chance to be eligible to do so. If your roll is successful you will be notified via pm how much you need to train it and how many times you need to use it in actual battle before it is mastered. For every successfully learned technique or style you will be considered one rank higher in power up to Leader rank. You may only opt to replicate one technique/style you have fought against in the rp. You only get one chance from each battle to try and replicate an enemies style/technique, if you fail you may not attempt to replicate the said technique/style until you have fought against it again in the rp. For each attempt past your first to replicate a technique/style the percentage of your potential success will be slightly decreased. *So note, although one may be considered a low rank such as a wanderer , it does not mean that they are destined to be inherently weak because of it. Everyone has the potential to be strong, being of higher rank just gives you the separating benefactor of having the superior faction training along with extra elemental sword enchantment slots. So yes potentially a Wanderer could stack up to a Leader, though the Leader would still have the advantage of faction training and extra sword enchantment slots. Otherwise role play ability is what really counts.*
Breakdown Of Separating Abilities: Wanderers:~ New unaffiliated faction members, 4th highest rank-Side Stepping [Dodging]Recruits:~ Newly recruited faction members, 3rd highest rank.-Side Stepping [Dodging]-Faction training [Reflects specialized faction training. Makes one minor in superiority to those without it]Officers:~ Seated faction officers, 2nd highest rank.-Side Stepping [Dodging] -Adept Faction training [Reflects specialized adept faction training. Makes one slightly superior to those without it] Leaders:~ Faction leader, 1st highest rank.-Side Stepping [Dodging]-Master Faction training [Reflects specialized elite faction training. Makes one noticeably superior to those without it]

| Regarding Armor
- As of now there is no structure to accommodate armor, shields, etc. If in your appearance your character likes to wear armor or anything of that nature it will be strictly for aesthetic and ignored against damage if worn in battle. Although this is a samurai rp the use of armor as far as our custom storyline is concerned is not relative.
